about

A track that has inspired and amazed generations of producers and millions of music enthusiasts deserves not only tons of respect but also a royal treatment when it comes to a re-release. So here we go, the new "Hale Bopp Mutation" bundle including the very first version from April 1997, two new edits and five (!) new remixes are about to hit your auditory channels.
Let's kick things off with the incredible laid-back and nifty "Eternity Variation". Super atmospheric and sophisticated and perfectly transformed into the present you wouldn't expect the original to have reached the ripe age of almost 25 years.
The next, so-called "String Illusion" version is a jaw-dropping beauty. As the name already implies a “Physical Modeling Orchestra” gives us the illusion of a string interpretation which makes us struggle to find the appropriate words to express our utmost admiration for it. Absolutely stunning.
We become electronic again and continue with the Rico Puestel's "Flaugergues Remix". Here we have a smoothly floating tapestry of sound coupled with an incredibly light-footed percussion that takes electronic storytelling to another level.
Germany's Drum'n'Bass heavyweight Bassface Sascha contributes a stellar remix and refreshingly different approach. And yes, "Hale Bopp" coupled with broken beats works just perfectly.
All the very different musical interpretations make this bundle so amazingly different and exciting. Take Mirco Niemeier, who needs no introduction and delivers an acid infused killer version of a remix that bursts with high spirits.
We continue with yet another mood. BSB's "Stella Polaris Remix" deserves to be labeled a journey through unknown soundscapes that shall never come to an end. The masterminds from Denmark are not only responsible for the popular Stella Polaris Chill Out festival, but also for this beautiful piece of music.
Just shortly before reaching space DJ Lion knocks us out of the skies with his heavily pumping peak time remix. If you know this guy then you know that he doesn't take any prisoners and delivers on point ALL THE TIME. His version of "Hale Bopp" is an impressive homage and a uncompromising peak time banger.
To round off this superb EP we are excited to share the very first version of "Hale Bopp" that was written in April 1997. Back then you could see the name giving comet in the sky with your own eyes. It's difficult not to become sentimental if you consider the unbelievable story this track was about to write... and still writes today!
